PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tyrell Sackett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mayhem Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sackett's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Welcome to the Jungle. The crowd seem to be enjoying Miller's choice of entrance music: LL-cool J - Mama said knock you out. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sackett has a takedown stuffed.
Miller scoring well with a low kick there.
Sackett throws a right and a left that Miller avoids nicely.
Sackett throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Miller.
A combination from Sackett does no damage.
Sackett throws a series of punches but Miller moves out of range.
Nice defenses there by Miller.

Miller feints and as Sackett raises his hands in defense, Miller changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Sackett has momentary wrist control but Miller slips an elbow through the middle.
Sackett manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Miller wants to hold on but Sackett pushes him away.
Miller is looking to improve his position but Sackett isn't that keen on the idea.

Miller suckers Sackett into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Miller is now in Sackett's guard!
Sackett is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Miller doesn't have the hooks in and Sackett manages to turn into his guard.
Sackett has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Miller wants to sweep but no luck.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Mayhem Miller will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Sackett throws a lazy right hand but Miller sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

and Miller counters with a single leg into guard. Sackett didn't expect that.

Sackett scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Miller shoots in but no luck this time.
Sackett tries to clinch but Miller moves away
and Miller counters with a nice low kick that buckles Sackett's knee momentarily.

and Miller counters with an inside leg kick.
Tyrell Sackett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sackett scores with a three punch combo!


It looks like Mayhem Miller has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sackett drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Sackett throwing strikes from guard but Miller blocks nicely.

Miller stands and steps away. Sackett gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Miller postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Sackett to stand up.
Sackett throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Miller does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Sackett slips a jab and a cross from Miller.
Sackett shoots and misses
and Miller counters with a good low kick that Sackett was not able to check.
Miller throws a nice outside leg kick.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Sackett misses with a takedown
and Miller counters with a nice uppercut.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyrell Sackett. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Sackett shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Sackett was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Miller is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close second round but I would say that Tyrell Sackett will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Miller keeps the fight on the outside.
Miller has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Miller there as he acknowledges the shot.
Miller explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Sackett shoots in but no luck this time.
Sackett fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sackett tries to bum rush Miller with a series of wild strikes but Miller uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Miller connects with a solid leg kick.
Sackett looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Miller is fending him off so far but Sackett persists. Nope, Miller circles away and we're back to standing.
Miller moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

and Miller counters with a nice double leg into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sackett wants to stand and escape but Miller is having none of it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sackett wants to get back to his feet but Miller passes into half guard.
Sackett is trying to stand back up but Miller is controlling him
Miller perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Sackett is trying to stand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Sackett throws a left and a right that both miss
and Miller counters with a low kick, right behind Sackett 's knee.

enabling Miller to counter with a crisp jab.
Miller fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Sackett is out of range.

so Miller counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sackett is on top in guard.

Sackett would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Sackett seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Sackett looking to sit in guard and control but Miller gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Miller not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sackett grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.

Mayhem Miller comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Miller has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
