Rogers comes to the cage accompanied by For Whom The Bell Tolls by Metallica. Craig Pollard has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pollard misses with a hook. Rogers ducked under it nicely.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Pollard closes the distance but Rogers moves to the side
and Rogers connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Rogers ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Pollard looks to land a combination. Rogers sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Rogers is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Rogers tries to clinch but Pollard is having none of it.
Rogers cracks Pollard with a right hand to the side of the head.
Pollard scores with a decent looking hook.
A combination from Rogers does no damage.
Pollard shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rogers as he avoids it easily.
Pollard tries to clinch up but Rogers circles away and keeps his distance.
Rogers fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Pollard on the side of the head.

Rogers swats away the attempt to clinch by Pollard.
Pollard steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Rogers.
Joe Rogers is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Rogers's corner calls for a 1-2. Rogers obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.


That has opened up Craig Pollard's cut even more.
Rogers catches Pollard with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Pollard shoots for a takedown but Rogers saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Pollard doesn't manage to clinch there - Rogers circles away.
Rogers lunges at Pollard with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Pollard's hand.


The cut above Craig Pollard's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Pollard tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Pollard tries to close the distance and clinch but Rogers swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and Rogers counters with a nice double leg into side control. Pollard won't be happy with that.
Joe Rogers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Craig Pollard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Pollard is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pollard shoots for a double leg takedown but Rogers sprawls well. He's pushed Pollard's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Rogers takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.


Craig Pollard's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

and Rogers counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Rogers scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rogers fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pollard manages to avoid it.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
