Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lon Pruitt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Story Of My Life - One Direction. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Jorge Garcia and Alyssa Summers.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva throws a one two combo.
Silva bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Pruitt's head.
Silva cracks Pruitt with an open hand slap.
Silva lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Silva lands with a good body shot.
Pruitt takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Pruitt drops his hands momentarily and Silva takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Silva takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Silva throws a body punch but Pruitt moves out of range.
A big right from Silva misses.
Pruitt throws a big counter combination but Silva scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Pruitt tries to score a power double leg takedown but Silva sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Pruitt somewhat.
Silva circles away from the clinch attempt
and Silva counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Anthony Silva is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Silva throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Pruitt is looking for a counter combo.
Pruitt tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Silva swivels and escapes.
Silva comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Silva. Pruitt does a little dance to reset his feet.
A jab from Silva does it's job there.
Pruitt walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Pruitt misses with a takedown attempt - Silva sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Pruitt shoots in looking for a takedown. Silva tries to sprawl out of it but Pruitt keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Silva manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Silva takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Pruitt doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Silva counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Pruitt takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Pruitt has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Silva finds it's way round the side to connect with Pruitt's head.
Pruitt ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pruitt tries for a takedown but Silva sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Silva now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Silva fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Pruitt on the side of the head.
Silva looks to score with a jab to the body but Pruitt is just out of range.
Pruitt appears to be looking for a big counter.
Pruitt tries to clinch up
and Silva counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Pruitt doesn't manage to clinch there - Silva circles away.
Pruitt on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Silva swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Pruitt.
Silva ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pruitt moves away.
Silva looks winded!
Silva stuffs the takedown attempt from Pruitt. Pruitt gets slowly back to his feet.
Silva scores with a punch to the head.
Silva throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Silva is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Pruitt had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Pruitt misses with a takedown
and Silva counters with a stiff right hand.
Silva smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Silva tests Pruitt's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Pruitt takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Pruitt tries for a takedown but Silva sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Silva uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Pruitt has time to react.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pruitt ducks right into an uppercut from Silva.
Silva throws an overhand right that lands on Pruitt's shoulder, as Pruitt tries to avoid the shot.
Pruitt tries to clinch up.
Pruitt looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Pruitt avoids the body shot from Silva.
Pruitt seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
A big right from Silva misses.
Pruitt looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Silva looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Pruitt tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Silva swivels and escapes.
Silva now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Silva lands the left hand.
Pruitt fails with a takedown attempt.
Silva feints a jab promting Pruitt to slip. Silva then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Pruitt slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Nice takedown defense from Silva. No joy for Pruitt on that attempt.
A nice side step and Silva releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silva throws a series of punches but Pruitt avoids them all with ease.

Pruitt really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Pruitt takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Silva slaps away a takedown attempt from Pruitt, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Pruitt shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Silva defends it nicely.
This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Pruitt might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silva stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Silva wants it to stay on the feet.

Silva throws a lazy right hand but Pruitt sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Anthony Silva showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Silva can do anything to dispel that myth.
Silva takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Silva tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Pruitt misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Pruitt has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Pruitt throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Pruitt won't let Silva get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Pruitt lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pruitt. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
