Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Roger Swift (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boo Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roger Swift has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roger Swift!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Boo Coleman!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Anthony Taglia and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coleman throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Coleman.
Coleman throws a series of punches but Swift avoids them all with ease.
Swift shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Coleman as he avoids it easily.
Swift misses with a takedown

and Coleman counters with a takedown into side control.
Coleman lands a nice forearm strike.
Coleman working the body and head with strikes.
Coleman controls the position.
Coleman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Coleman decides to stand up, so the ref orders Swift to his feet.
Roger Swift seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Coleman is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Swift doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Coleman counters with a single leg into guard. Swift didn't expect that.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

I looks like Coleman might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Coleman stands up and beckons Swift to join him on the feet.

Coleman changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Swift fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Swift moves in looking to clinch but Coleman pushes him off.
Swift wants to clinch up but Coleman keeps it at a distance.

Swift wants the takedown. Coleman is fighting it off but Swift persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Coleman's guard against the cage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Coleman can do anything to dispel that myth.

Swift closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Swift gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Coleman regains guard.
Swift has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Swift stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Coleman swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Coleman has control of Swift's left arm, preventing Swift from doing any damage.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Swift shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Coleman as he jumps to the side.
Swift tries to clinch but Coleman moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Boo Coleman dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Coleman wants to clinch.
Coleman looks to land a combination but Swift avoids it well.
Coleman stuffs the takedown attempt from Swift. Swift gets slowly back to his feet.

Coleman closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Coleman not doing much here.
Swift knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Coleman on the ground.

Coleman stands up and beckons Swift to join him on the feet.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Coleman is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Swift gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Swift feints and as Coleman raises his hands in defense, Swift changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Coleman lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Swift!

Coleman gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Coleman manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Swift manages to get himself to full guard.
Coleman distracts Swift with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Swift is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Coleman scores with a couple of nice shots.
Coleman slows the pace down in half guard.

Coleman escapes and gets back to his feet.
Swift tries for a takedown but Coleman sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Swift fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roger Swift. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Coleman tries to close the distance and clinch but Swift swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Swift is looking to get back to is feet but Coleman passes into side control.
Coleman wants to control but Swift is keeping him busy.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Boo Coleman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Swift shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Swift was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Coleman regains half guard.
Coleman wants to control but Swift is keeping busy.
Swift performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Swift lands a nice short elbow.

Coleman holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Coleman wants to control but Swift is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Swift looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Coleman with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Swift wants to free his trapped foot but Coleman is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Swift is working for a kimura but Coleman is defending it quite comfortably.
Swift looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Coleman with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Swift shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Coleman lands a decent punch to the body there.
Swift postures up.
Swift connects with a couple of short punches.
Coleman is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Coleman wants to sweep here but Swift controlling him for the moment.
Swift wants to control from the top but Coleman keeps moving.
Swift throws a strike but Coleman rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Swift closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Coleman to the mat! Coleman manages to get full guard.
Coleman not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Coleman is looking to stand up but Swift isn't so interested in that idea.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Swift accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Swift is looking to work some ground and pound but Coleman has wrist control.

Swift stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Coleman swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Coleman pulls Swift in close to prevent any damage.

Coleman jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Swift manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Swift tries to bench press Coleman off him but Coleman keeps the position.
Swift sneaks back into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Coleman perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Roger Swift has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Boo Coleman is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Swift throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Roger Swift.
I think Coleman has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
