The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Potter misses the target.
And Lobtov tries to counter it with a takedown but Potter pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Lobtov throws a right hand that misses
and Potter counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Lobtov shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
letting Potter counter with a right hand.
Potter throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lobtov.
Lobtov doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Lobtov takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Lobtov swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Potter counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Potter has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Highland CT & Spar in the buildup to the fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lobtov looks to throw the jab but Potter is out of range.

letting Potter counter with a right hand.
Peter Potter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrey Lobtov.
Potter throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Lobtov with the counter takedown but Potter avoids it easily.

Potter bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Lobtov's head.

Lobtov shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lobtov is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Potter on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Potter tries to get out of the position.
Potter tries to buck Lobtov off but he can't manage it.

Lobtov is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Potter has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Potter is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Lobtov quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Lobtov but it's paid off an Potter is forced to tap! Nice work by Lobtov.
