Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rayford Larson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stefan Washington!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Washington gets a clinch.
Larson has Washington pushed against the cage.
Larson really is a fat lump.
Washington is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Washington manages to break the clinch.
Larson blocks a head kick by Washington.
Larson attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Washington has taken the fight to the clinch.

Washington pulls Larson into guard.
Larson postures up in Washington's guard and throws a big left but Washington blocks it.
Larson with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Washington looking to hit a scissor sweep but Larson is one step ahead there.
Larson looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Washington is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Larson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Larson trying to control but Washington is working from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Larson instigates a clinch.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Washington has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Larson clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Larson is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet.

Washington closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Larson pulls guard successfully.
Washington prevents Larson from getting back to his feet.
Washington slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Larson lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Washington pulls Larson in to control the position.
Washington being controlled here, momentarily.
Larson working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Washington's head.
Larson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Washington is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Larson is controlling him.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Larson won't allow Washington to sweep him here.
Larson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Washington wants to improve his position but instead Larson has moved into half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Larson prevents Washington from standing back up.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Larson closes the distance and clinches.

Washington jumps guard and drags Larson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Washington has control of Larson's left arm, preventing Larson from doing any damage.
Larson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Washington can do to turn this around?
Washington can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Larson controls the pace.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Larson tightens his grip and picks Washington up, before dumping him to the ground. Washington manages to land in guard.
Washington really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Larson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Larson won't allow Washington to sweep him here.
Washington is trying to control the position but Larson postures up.
Washington keeping moving, preventing Larson from controlling successfully.
Washington lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Larson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Washington wants to control from the top but Larson keeps moving.

Larson doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Larson is looking to stand up but Washington isn't so interested in that idea.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Washington checks a low kick from Larson.
Washington unleashes a big counter combination but Larson bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

and Washington counters with a series of strikes. Larson will be more careful next time no doubt.
Larson has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Washington scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Washington is keen to just control but Larson is a slippery customer.
Washington is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Washington is continuing to stall.
The adventures of Washington the control monster continue. Boring.
Washington trying to mount his opponent but Larson defends it.
Larson wants to control but Washington passes into side.
Washington trying to control the action but Larson is working from the bottom.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Washington takes a little break here. Larson wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stefan Washington showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Washington clinches up with Larson and pushes him back against the cage.
Larson tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Washington avoids it.
Larson tries for a takedown. No joy.
Washington prevents a body shot from Larson.
Washington gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Larson.

Larson has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Washington is trying to keep an underhook but Larson manages to get the takedown into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Washington is looking for a sweep. Larson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Washington is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Larson missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Rayford Larson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Washington is looking to control Larson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Washington avoid being mounted?
Washington pushes Larson off looking to stand but Larson dives back in and keeps control.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Washington is not content to let Larson control the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Larson throws a body shot but no joy.

Washington fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Larson, pushing him back against the cage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Washington gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Washington decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Washington throws a sloppy head kick and Larson moves out of range easily.
Larson tries to clinch up.

Washington throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Larson was covering up waiting for the punch and Washington finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Washington controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Washington wants to stand but Larson is controlling his posture from full guard.

Larson looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Larson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Washington.
Larson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Washington tries to stand but Larson is controlling from the bottom.
Washington engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Larson can't keep his opponent in guard - Washington advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Washington is pressing down on Larson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Larson is holding on for now.

Stefan Washington comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Washington has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
