Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 wins, 4 losses and 0 draws, fighting out of Tokyo, Frank Nada!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Percy O'Donnell.



The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Conan enables Nada to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Conan manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Nada throwing strikes but missing.
Nada advances to half guard.
Conan regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Nada.
Nada looking to sit in guard and control but Conan gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Conan works over Nada with some ground and pound from guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Nada wants to improve his position but Conan is controlling well.
Nada felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Conan is just content to waste time from the top position. Nada takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Conan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Nada regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Conan.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Nada is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Edogawa Conan dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Nada is looking to clinch.
Conan digs a good body shot into Nada's ribs.
Nada looks to throw the jab but Conan is out of range.
Nada misses with a hook to the body
and Conan counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Nada!
Conan tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Nada was well out of range. Poor timing from Conan.

Conan closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Frank Nada seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Oooh a lovely combination from Nada sends Conan down but not out. Nada dives into side control looking to finish.

Conan is rocked!

It looks like Edogawa Conan has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nada scoring with punches and elbows.
Oh Conan is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Conan is looking to reverse the position.
Nada cracks Conan with a big right hand but Conan just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Conan is looking for a sweep.
Conan takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Conan is looking to reverse the position.
Nada scores with punches from side control.
Nada works to advance to full mount. Conan defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nada prevents Conan from getting the reversal.
Conan seems to have got his legs back now.
Nada lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Nada has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Conan's face.

Nada cracks Conan with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
