PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Some Dude (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Hennessy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Some Dude!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Hennessy!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Matti Vanhoillinen and Tarja Halkonen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hennessy is looking to clinch.
Hennessy fails in his attempt to clinch.
Dude shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hennessy but Hennessy pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Hennessy wants to clinch.

Hennessy gets tackled into the ropes by Dude. Dude maintains the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Dude creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Hennessy tries to land knees in the clinch but Dude avoids the damage to the body.

Dude breaks the clinch.
Dude throws a shot to the body.

Hennessy ducks under a wild hook from Dude.
A punch lands to the side of Hennessy 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Dude really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
A swing and a miss from Dude.

Hennessy clinches up against the ropes.
Hennessy effectively controlling the action here.
Dude tries to score a body lock takedown but Hennessy shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Hennessy throws an elbow but it misses.
Dude blocks an elbow strike.
Hennessy creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Dude manages to break the clinch.
Dude just misses with a punch to the body.
Hennessy moves in looking to clinch but Dude pushes him off.
Hennessy tries to clinch there but Dude circles away.
Hennessy tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Some wild striking there from Dude.
Hennessy let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
We've been told by Dude's head coaches at El Tico 's Academy that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Dude closes the distance and clinches.

Dude has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hennessy uses from the top position.

Dude has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Hennessy doesn't defend quickly enough and Dude has managed to lock this one up! Can Hennessy escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Dude on a fantastic submission victory.
