Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hong Pate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Anderson's choice of entrance music: Tum Hi Ho (Arabic Cover) - Arijit Singh. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Anderson pushes Pate up against the cage in a clinch.
Pate is trying to pull guard but Anderson turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Pate is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Anderson pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Pate jumps guard but Anderson turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hong Pate. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A body shot lands from Anderson.
Pate jumps guard but Anderson stands there with Pate around his waist. Pate gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pate had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Anderson defends it easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pate looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Pate pulls Anderson in close to his closed guard and prevents Anderson from doing any damage or advancing position.
Anderson wanted to stand there but Pate had control of the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Anderson lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Pate takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Anderson has taken the fight to the clinch.
Pate is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Anderson gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Pate pulls Anderson in close to prevent any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Pate takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Pate shoots in but no luck this time.
Anderson cracks Pate with a good jab.
Anderson throws a nice looking combination but Pate bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Pate throwing a counter right hand but Anderson manages to avoid it.
Anderson connects with a right hand. Pate shakes it off.
Anderson moves in looking to clinch but Pate pushes him off.
The fighters circle momentarily. Anderson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Pate might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Anderson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Anderson lands with an uppercut that bounces Pate off the cage and back into range.

Anderson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pate circles away quickly and effectively.
Anderson bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Pate's head.

Anderson might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Anderson bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Pate's head backwards.

Pate walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Anderson checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Pate quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.

Mike Anderson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pate closes this distance looking for a takedown but Anderson circles away.
Anderson looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

I've got Anderson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
