Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
26 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lucas Bane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
24 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcus Dantes!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Glass and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dantes fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bane manages to avoid it.
Dantes swings widly with a right hand
and Bane counters with a crisp one two that drops Dantes! Bane thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Dantes to his feet! Dantes is in big trouble!
Dantes throws the left hand but Bane avoids the punch easily.
Bane appears to be looking for a big counter.
Bane tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dantes was well out of range. Poor timing from Bane.
Dantes swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Bane on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Dantes lands a jab to the nose.
Dantes scores with a shot to the body.
A head kick misses from Dantes.
A jab from Bane misses.
Bane misses with an uppercut.
Bane has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bane goes for a double leg but Dantes avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Dantes continues to drive forward.
Bane pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dantes rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Bane counters with a nice uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Dantes swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Bane.
A head kick misses from Dantes.
Bane has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Dantes finds it's way round the side to connect with Bane's head.
Dantes rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Bane connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Dantes throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bane was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Dantes throws a lazy uppercut
and Bane counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Dantes throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bane lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Dantes misses with a looping left.
Bane throws a counter high kick but Dantes was just alert enough to avoid it.
Dantes throws a body shot but no joy.
Dantes throws a poor cross that misses
and Bane counters with a crisp right hand that drops Dantes! Bane lets Dantes back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Dantes is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Dantes drops his hands momentarily. Bane doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Dantes staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Dantes doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Lucas Bane!
A very excited looking Lucas Bane made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
