The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Marciano.
Marciano is trying hard to land a takedown here. Souza sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Souza doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Souza slaps away a takedown attempt from Marciano, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Souza fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Marciano to the ground. Souza is now in Marciano's guard.

Marciano is working an open guard so Souza takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Souza lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Leo Souza showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Souza manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Marciano keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Marciano jumps guard but Souza turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
