Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Duane Lane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Joe Young!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Sandra Marshall and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lane closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Lane really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Young trying to control but Lane postures up.
Lane is taking a breather. Young says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Young wants to control but Lane is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Young gets full guard.
Young not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Lane will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Young is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lane is aware though and is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Young can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lane controls the pace.
Young should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Lane advances position into side control!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Young is looking to reverse the position.

Lane lands a few punches from side control.
Lane works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Young is being controlled here.
Young struggling a bit here.
Lane controls the position from side control.
Young wants to control but Lane postures up.

Lane is trying to get an arm triangle but Young is defending well.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Lane is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Young has escaped the position, nice work there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lane wants to control but Young is keeping him busy.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Lane dives in and scores a takedown into Young's guard.

Lane is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Young has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Lane is looking to defend but Young has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Lane! Young pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Lane taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Joe Young!
