PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Greg McConor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lord Satan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Greg McConor has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Greg McConor seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lord Satan!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Sandra Marshall and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Satan tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but McConor swivels and escapes.
Satan throws a head kick but McConor moves out of range.
McConor misses with a hook.

McConor clinches.

McConor manages to break the clinch.
Satan goes for a double leg but McConor avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as McConor continues to drive forward.
McConor seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
McConor stuffs the takedown attempt from Satan. Satan gets slowly back to his feet.
Greg McConor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lord Satan.
Satan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Satan tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but McConor paws at him with a jab and circles away.

McConor throws a right and a left that Satan avoids nicely.
Satan is looking to clinch but McConor is avoiding it.
Satan dives in and grabs McConor's left leg, looking for a takedown. McConor pushes down on Satan's head and hops out.

McConor moves into the clinch.
Satan looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Satan jumps guard but McConor stands there with Satan around his waist. Satan gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
McConor throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Satan tries a body shot but McConor blocks it.

McConor is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Satan can't fight it off and eventually McConor manages to take the fight to the floor. Satan looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

McConor slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Satan.

Satan has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. McConor is working away from the top position though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

McConor pushes Satan up against the cage in a clinch.
Satan is trying to drag McConor to the mat but McConor just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

McConor manages to break the clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Satan.
McConor seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Satan shoots in for a takedown but McConor shows good takedown defense.
Greg McConor is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Satan fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Satan tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. McConor manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Satan wants to take the fight to the mat but McConor manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Satan ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

and McConor counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Satan tries to pull guard but McConor holds him up against the cage and eventually Satan drops back down to his feet.

Satan is trying to maintain a safe position but McConor gets an underhook and turns Satan into the cage.

Satan tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Satan wants to break free but McConor has control.

McConor leaves Satan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Satan takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Satan seems to have recovered his senses.
McConor circles away from the clinch attempt
and McConor counters with a one-two to the body.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Satan pulls out of a head kick attempt.
McConor displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Satan.
As Satan looks to move away, McConor throws a big counter combo but Satan just gets out of the way.
Satan with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling McConor to score with a decent uppercut.
