Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Gates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Walloping Willy Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gates comes to the cage accompanied by last one standing. Wallace has chosen Flower Of Scotland as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Matthew Gates!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Walloping Willy Wallace!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Donald Grub and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wallace moves into the clinch.
Wallace landing knees to the head.


It looks like Matthew Gates has been cut.

Wallace's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Gates throws a head kick but Wallace moves out of range.

Wallace has Gates up against the cage in a clinch.
Gates can't break the clinch.
Gates stops a takedown attempt from Wallace.
Wallace connects with a nasty looking knee right to Gates's face.
Gates tries to break free but Wallace pushes him back against the cage.
Gates wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Wallace has him pressed against the cage.

Wallace pulls Gates into guard.
Wallace is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Gates wants to get up but he can't break Wallace's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Gates is fighting to break Wallace's control of his arms but Wallace is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Gates looking to pass the guard.
Gates knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wallace on the ground.

Wallace looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gates is one step ahead there.
Wallace wants to stand up but Gates is controlling him.
Wallace tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Wallace bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gates's guard.

Wallace slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Wallace stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gates swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Wallace seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Gates wants to get back to his feet but Wallace passes into half guard.
Gates tries to kick Wallace off in order to stand up. Wallace Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
A lull in the action here as Wallace stalls from top position.
Gates is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Gates looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wallace is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Gates knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Wallace slows the pace down.

Wallace looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Wallace scoring with punches from side control.

Wallace tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Gates wants to get back to his feet.

Wallace decides to stand back up.
Wallace shoots in for a takedown but Gates shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Gates looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Gates takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Gates is breathing heavily.
Gates scores with a punch to the head.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Wallace lands a nice looking kick to the body. Gates takes a step back to recover.

Wallace closes the distance and clinches.

Wallace breaks the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Walloping Willy Wallace dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Matthew Gates's cut.
That's time! Gates's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Gates swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Gates takes a kick to the side of the head.
Wallace throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Gates pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Matthew Gates seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wallace forces Gates back against the cage and clinches.
Wallace unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Wallace wants a takedown but no success here.
Wallace lands an elbow just above Gates 's eye.

Wallace jumps guard.
Wallace managing to control the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Wallace looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Gates passes into side control.

Wallace is pushing Gates's head away, looking to escape. Gates manages to hold on to the position though.
Wallace sneaks back into half guard.
Wallace has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gates is working away from the top position though.
Wallace punching from the bottom.
Gates seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Wallace manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Gates keeps Wallace at a distance using the push kick.
Gates looks to land a combination but Wallace avoids it well.
A punch combination from Wallace misses.
A left and a right from Wallace both land. Nice combination.
Wallace scores with a head kick.

Wallace rushes Gates and presses him up against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Wallace breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Gates takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Nice takedown defense from Gates. No joy for Wallace on that attempt.
Wallace throws a right and a left that both miss.
No joy there for Gates, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Wallace takes the fight into the clinch.
Gates wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Wallace connects with a nasty looking knee right to Gates's face.
Knees in the clinch landing for Wallace.

Wallace gets control of Gates's arms and successfully pulls guard. Wallace will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Walloping Willy Wallace has got the better of the ground game so far.

Gates stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Matthew Gates is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wallace feints a jab promting Gates to slip. Wallace then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Gates slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Gates crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Wallace - the referee stops the clock and Gates gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Wallace. Gates manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Gates gets tackled into the cage by Wallace. Wallace maintains the clinch.

Wallace pulls guard effortlessly.
Wallace wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Wallace had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gates defends it easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wallace trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Walloping Willy Wallace showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Gates misses with a body kick.
Wallace moves out of range of the leg kick from Gates.
Gates falls off balance throwing a combination
and Wallace counters with a left and a right that stings Gates.
Wallace tries to bum rush Gates with a series of wild strikes but Gates uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Wallace clinches with his opponent.
Gates wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Wallace escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Wallace plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Wallace lands a big right hand that sends Gates crashing to the mat! Wallace stays standing though and waves Gates back to his feet!


Gates is rocked!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Wallace rushes Gates and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Oh Gates is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wallace jerks Gates's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Gates drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Wallace goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Wallace because Gates was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knee). Walloping Willy Wallace!
