PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pebble Braithweight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mat Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mat Jenkins told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Pebble Braithweight!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mat Jenkins!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Steven Brown and Daniel Bishop.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jenkins throws a series of punches but Braithweight moves out of range.

Jenkins clinches up with Braithweight and pushes him back against the cage.
Jenkins has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Braithweight is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Braithweight fails to pull guard.

Jenkins breaks the clinch.
Jenkins dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Braithweight. That did some damage!

Jenkins has taken the fight to the clinch.
Braithweight misses with some punches.
Jenkins cracks Braithweight with a nice body shot.
Jenkins works on Braithweight's body with a couple of short punches.
Jenkins lands a nice uppercut.
Jenkins has Braithweight pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Braithweight manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Braithweight takes an elbow to the temple.

Jenkins gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Jenkins tries to stand but can't do so whilst Braithweight controls his leg.

Braithweight pushes Jenkins off and gets back to his feet.
Braithweight avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Braithweight scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jenkins pushes Braithweight away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Braithweight gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Jenkins really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Braithweight. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jenkins looks gassed!

Jenkins tries to escape back to his feet but Braithweight has kept hold of him... Oh, now he's got Jenkins's back and is looking for the choke... Is it? Is it sunk in? YES! Jenkins is tapping! Braithweight saw the opportunity and took it - ruthless!
