PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Les Sobrante (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johannis Modigh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sobrante comes to the cage accompanied by Primus - Fisticuffs. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sobrante misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Modigh.
Modigh throws out a counter right but Sobrante avoids it with no problem.

Modigh stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Modigh enables Sobrante to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Modigh manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Modigh wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sobrante keeps working.
Sobrante tries to roll over but Modigh keeps him under control.
Modigh is trying to control the action in half guard but Sobrante is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Sobrante regains full guard. Nicely done.

Modigh drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Modigh jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Sobrante is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Sobrante is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Modigh has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Modigh!
