PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kenta Kobashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Esteban Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott has chosen Scotty Doesn't Know as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kenta Kobashi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Esteban Scott!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Scott is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Kobashi's half guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kobashi is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Scott makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Scott.
Kobashi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Scott swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Scott escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kobashi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Scott is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kobashi is aware though and is defending well.

That's time! Kobashi's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Scott felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Kobashi is pawing at Scott, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Scott's nose. Scott is badly hurt! Kobashi pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Scott tries desperately to hold on but Kobashi is relentless in his assault! As Scott receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Kobashi away and this one is in the books!
