PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between JD Hogg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abbe Faria (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hogg has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Abbe Faria!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hogg has closed the distance and engaged Faria in a clinch.
Hogg pushes off an throws an elbow but Faria leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Faria throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Hogg blocks it with crossed arms.
Faria gets through Hogg's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Hogg is breathing heavily.
Hogg tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Faria's elbow.
Faria tries to land knees in the clinch but Hogg avoids the damage to the body.
Faria lands a left hand.
Faria lands a nice knee to the body.
Faria tries to land a knee to the head but Hogg blocks with his arms.
Faria lands a hook to the side of the head.

Faria lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Hogg backwards.

Faria drops Hogg onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Hogg is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!

Hogg is rocked!

Faria unloads a knee to the mid-section. Hogg lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Faria dips a shoulder and cracks Hogg with a mighty uppercut! Hogg falls back against the cage and Faria unloads with a barrage of strikes! Hogg is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Faria screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Abbe Faria!

After winning the bout, Abbe Faria thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
