Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hector Levy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franz Ferdinand (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Franz Ferdinand has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Hector Levy's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Franz Ferdinand!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Levy stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Levy wants it to stay on the feet.
Ferdinand looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Ferdinand tries for a takedown but Levy sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Levy gets a double leg takedown into Ferdinand's guard.
Levy will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Ferdinand controls Levy momentarily but Levy frees himself.

Levy is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Levy scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Ferdinand is trying hard to land a takedown here. Levy sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Ferdinand will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Levy seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Ferdinand for as long as he can get away with.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Levy connects with a nice short shot to Ferdinand's temple.

Levy is working for a kimura but Ferdinand is defending it quite comfortably.

Ferdinand thows a leg kick but Levy checks it
and Levy counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Ferdinand shoots in looking for a takedown. Levy tries to sprawl out of it but Ferdinand keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Levy manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Levy darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Levy looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Ferdinand throws a head kick that half lands.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Levy.
Ferdinand throws a right hand that Levy ducks under and follows up with a left that Levy also avoids with ease.
Levy tries to counter with a takedown but Ferdinand is quick to defend against it.
Levy avoids the head kick by Ferdinand.

Levy closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ferdinand did well to prevent Levy getting side control.

Ferdinand takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Levy shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Levy landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Levy stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Levy really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Levy escapes and gets back to his feet.

Levy throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ferdinand tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Levy is in Ferdinand's guard.

Ferdinand isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Levy stacks Ferdinand on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Levy!

Levy decides to stand back up.

Levy shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ferdinand's guard.

Levy got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ferdinand has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Levy has managed to get both his arms back between Ferdinand's legs - danger averted.

Ferdinand has an active guard here but Levy has managed to pass into half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ferdinand is looking to control Levy's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ferdinand avoid being mounted?

Well Levy has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
