The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Raymond moves into range and clinches up with Silva.
Raymond throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Silva blocks it with crossed arms.
Raymond wants a takedown but no success here.
Raymond will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Silva up against the cage.
Raymond tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Silva smiles and moves away.
Raymond ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Silva throws a hook but Raymond blocks it.
Silva has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Silva throws a lazy uppercut
and Raymond connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Raymond takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Raymond wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Raymond moves out of range as Silva strikes.
Raymond throws a big counter combination but Silva scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Raymond lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

Silva fails to land with a series of punches.
As Silva tries to get set, Raymond tries to push him back and clinch up but Silva manages to avoid the attempt.
Anderson Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Raymond seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Silva throws a body shot but no joy.
A left lands for Silva.

It looks like Lanny Raymond has been cut.
Silva takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Silva throws a lazy uppercut

and Raymond counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Silva wants to get back to his feet but Raymond passes into half guard.

Raymond in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Silva tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Raymond!
