PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Denny Pang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Enzo Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pang's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Eruption. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Yamamoto.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pang throws a sloppy head kick and Silva moves out of range easily.
Silva looks for a takedown but Pang sprawls well.
Silva stuffs the takedown.
The fight stays on the outside here - Silva looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Pang drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Silva trying his best to control but Pang has mounted him.
Silva wants to control but Pang is having none of it.
Pang knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.

Pang swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Silva is now in Pang's guard. A big mistake from Pang there, giving up the dominant position!
Silva slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silva stays in close to Pang's body and controls the position.

Silva postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Pang is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Silva, into his guard.
Pang wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.

Silva had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Pang is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Silva Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Pang's back instead.

Silva is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Pang is defending well though. Silva let's go of the attempt for now.

Pang tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Pang is squirming around, avoiding Silva's attempts to control the action.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Silva stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Pang fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Pang scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Silva throws a right and a left that both miss.
Silva throws a head kick that misses.

Silva drives through and clinches with Pang against the cage.

Pang wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Silva has him pressed against the cage.
Come on Pang - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Pang keeps control of Silva as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Pang has had enough of the clinch but Silva keeps him there for the moment.

Silva successfully pulls guard.
Silva is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

A close round but Enzo Silva will probably get the nod.

Silva tries to clinch there but Pang circles away.
Silva takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Denny Pang is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Silva pushes Pang up against the cage in a clinch.
Silva drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Silva tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Pang smiles and moves away.
Pang wants to clinch but Silva slips to the side

and Silva moves into the clinch.

Pang breaks the clinch.
Pang tries for a takedown but Silva sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Silva keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Pang scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Pang fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Silva sprawls well initially but Pang persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Silva gets back to full guard.
Silva striking off his back but it's not causing Pang any problems.
Pang wants to stand and escape but instead Silva has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Silva drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Silva as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Pang screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Silva! Nice submission victory there!
