Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Frederic Bean!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mark Promos Jr!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bean displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Promos Jr.
It looked like Bean was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Promos Jr is defended easily by Bean.
Bean is looking for a counter combo.
Promos Jr looks to land a combination but Bean avoids it well.
As Promos Jr tries to get set, Bean tries to push him back and clinch up but Promos Jr manages to avoid the attempt.
Bean could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Promos Jr.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Promos Jr gets a takedown into half guard.
Bean wants to control but Promos Jr is keeping busy and won't allow it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Promos Jr wants to pass the guard but Bean is defending well.
Promos Jr wants to stand but Bean has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Promos Jr blocks the strikes from Bean.
Promos Jr seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Bean avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Promos Jr.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Promos Jr clinches up with Bean and pushes him back against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Promos Jr breaks the clinch.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Bean.
Bean working away.
Promos Jr tries to improve position but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bean wants to stand but Promos Jr is controlling his arm.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bean looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Bean wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Promos Jr, who protects the arm well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bean tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Promos Jr is looking to reverse the position.
Promos Jr is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Bean's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Bean controlling the action here.
Promos Jr is controlling Bean's trapped leg to prevent Bean from advancing to side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Promos Jr is looking to control Bean's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Promos Jr avoid being mounted?

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Promos Jr closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Promos Jr is looking for a kimura here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Promos Jr seems to be looking for submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Promos Jr dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Frederic Bean's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Promos Jr fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Promos Jr fails to land the takedown.
Bean throws a quick counter kick to the body but Promos Jr avoids it.
Promos Jr is looking to land body kicks.
Bean tries to counter by clinching up but Promos Jr breaks away and moves out of range.

Bean gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Promos Jr to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Bean is trying to control the position from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Promos Jr wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Bean's closed guard. He's half up but Bean has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Bean pivots and extends the arm, Promos Jr falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Bean! Well done that man!
