Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sean Stann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Remose A (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Remose A!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Anthony Taglia and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oooh a lovely combination from A sends Stann down but not out. A dives into side control looking to finish.


It looks like Sean Stann has been cut.
Stann wants to get back to his feet but A drags him back down.
Stann tries to improve position but can't.
A wants to stand but Stann has his arm trapped.
A working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
A wants to stand but Stann has his arm trapped.
A happy to just control the position for now.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
A looks for a takedown but Stann sprawls well.

A has taken the fight to the clinch.
A wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Stann has him pressed against the cage.

Stann breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A misses the jab.
A just misses with a punch to the body.
Stann throws a right hand that A ducks under and follows up with a left that A also avoids with ease.

Stann clinches up with A and pushes him back against the cage.

Stann pulls guard.
A preventing the sweep.
A must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
A wants to stand but Stann has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Stann is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

A slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
A looks gassed!
Stann avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
A wants to stand but Stann is controlling his posture from full guard.

A gets to his feet. Stann looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Stann drives through and clinches with A against the cage.

Stann breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Stann looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? A is fending him off so far but Stann persists. Nope, A circles away and we're back to standing.
Remose A seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice sprawl there from A as Stann shoots in.
A throws a right hand that Stann ducks under and follows up with a left that Stann also avoids with ease.
A wants to clinch
and Stann counters with a nice leg kick.
A misses with a double jab.
Stann looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sean Stann. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Stann shoots in but A avoids the takedown attempt easily.
A rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Stann moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Stann tries to bum rush A with a series of wild strikes but A uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

A shoots in and bounces Stann off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Stann controls A momentarily but A frees himself.

Stann pulls A in close to prevent any damage.
Stann looking to control.

Stann looking for a guillotine here but A defends easily.
A would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Remose A dominated that round.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Stann shoots in for a double leg but A sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
A fails in his attempt to clinch.
Stann misses with a takedown attempt - A sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
A wants to clinch but Stann slips to the side

and Stann counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Stann.
A can't break the clinch.
A wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Stann has him pressed against the cage.
A is trying to break free.
A tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Stann just stands there and leans against the cage.
Stann stalling in the clinch but A improves position.

Stann breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
The fight stays on the outside here - A looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stann shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts A as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sean Stann. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A left and a right from A both land. Nice combination.
A misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The fight stays on the outside here - A looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Stann gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
A moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
A throws a nice looking combination but Stann bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Stann takes the fight into the clinch.
A is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Stann pulls him back up using the underhooks.

A would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stann is trying to keep A in close.

Stann escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. A gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
A really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stann. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
A wanted to stand there but Stann had control of the position.

Stann scrambles and gets back to his feet.
A right-left combo lands from A.
A fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Stann shoots in for a takedown but A shows good takedown defense.
Stann tries to clinch up.
A throws a leg kick
and Stann counters with a nice body kick.
Stann shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Stann with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling A to score with a decent uppercut.
Stann moves in looking to clinch but A pushes him off.
Stann is looking to clinch but A is avoiding it.

A wants to clinch.
A is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Stann.
The fighters circle momentarily. A darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Stann will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
A tries to close the distance and clinch but Stann swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Stann takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Stann throws a hook to the side of A's head but A sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
A lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Stann backs up against the cage.
Stann fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
A lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
A throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Remose A will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



Stann shoots in and bounces A off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Stann tries to free his leg and advance position but A is retaining full guard.
A keeping moving, preventing Stann from controlling successfully.
A is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Stann is controlling him.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
A looking for a sweep. Not yet A, not yet.

A is looking to stand up but Stann isn't so interested in that idea.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if A can do anything to dispel that myth.
Stann controls from within his opponent's guard.
Stann slips nicely into half guard.
A pushes Stann off looking to stand but Stann dives back in and keeps control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Stann is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Stann is trying to control the action in half guard but A is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Stann is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because A is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
A is trying to stand back up but Stann is controlling him
Stann wants to take a breather but A is having none of it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
A attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Stann throws a head kick that A semi-blocks.
A connects with a jab.
A lands a nice hook to Stann's body. Stann takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Stann fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. A sprawls well initially but Stann persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
A flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Stann postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for A to stand up.
Stann shoots for a double leg takedown but A sprawls well. He's pushed Stann's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A punch combination from Stann misses.
Stann wants to clinch.
A tries to clinch up but Stann circles away and keeps his distance.
Stann tries to close the distance and clinch but A swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Stann tries for a takedown but A sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

A is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
A throws a left and a right that both miss

and Stann counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Stann.

Stann sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed A's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A tries to kick Stann off but Stann keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

I think A has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
