Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Hassan Dalton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Walcom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hassan Dalton has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hassan Dalton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carl Walcom!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Walcom as Dalton shoots in.

Walcom rushes Dalton and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Dalton looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Walcom jumps guard and drags Dalton to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dalton won't allow Walcom to get back to his feet.

Dalton gets to his feet. Walcom looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Walcom enables Dalton to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Walcom manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Walcom has his hands on Dalton's head, controlling the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dalton throws an elbow that misses. Walcom uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Dalton's guard. Nice move by Walcom!

Dalton is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Walcom is aware though and is defending well.

Dalton has his foot on Walcom's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Walcom works his way back into a safe position though.

Dalton manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Walcom manages to get himself to full guard.

Walcom is looking to stand up but Dalton isn't so interested in that idea.
Walcom is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dalton really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Walcom is looking for a triangle here but Dalton uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Walcom can't do much from the bottom here.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Dalton wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Walcom, who protects the arm well.

Walcom wants to get back to his feet but Dalton is dominant here and he's now got Walcom's back!
Dalton has the hooks in. Walcom is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Walcom shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dalton as he jumps to the side.

Dalton changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Walcom looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Dalton thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Walcom is trying to control Dalton's posture but Dalton avoids it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Dalton wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Walcom, who protects the arm well.

You can see the frustration on Walcom's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Walcom wants to get back to his feet but Dalton drags him back down.

Dalton sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Walcom is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Dalton is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Walcom is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Dalton is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Walcom has escaped the position, nice work there.
Walcom is looking for a sweep.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Dalton drops down looking for an ankle pick but Walcom pulls his leg out and moves away.

Walcom drives through with a takedown into Dalton's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Dalton wants to stand up but Walcom is controlling him.

Walcom is breathing heavily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Dalton lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Walcom drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Dalton is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The strikes coming from Walcom are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Dalton is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Walcom off and has taken his back!
Hassan Dalton overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Walcom tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Dalton unloads with some shots from mount but Walcom bucks and avoids them well.

Walcom takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Dalton is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Walcom has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Dalton manages to capitalize on a mistake by Walcom to take his back!
Walcom really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dalton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Dalton has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Walcom has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Dalton doesn't have the hooks in and Walcom manages to turn into his guard.
Walcom wants to stand but Dalton has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Dalton is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Dalton is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Walcom can do to turn this around?
Walcom wants to control from the top but Dalton keeps moving.

Walcom decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Dalton moves in looking to clinch but Walcom pushes him off.

Walcom has Dalton up against the cage in a clinch.
Walcom is trying to break the clinch but Dalton has him pressed against the cage.

Walcom breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Carl Walcom has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Hassan Dalton is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Hassan Dalton showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dalton, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
