The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cide throws a right and a left that both miss.
Thompson takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Thompson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cide avoids it really well and circles away.
Cide drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Thompson defends it well.
Thompson avoids the head kick by Cide.
Cide stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cide wants it to stay on the feet.
Cide misses with a hook.
Thompson fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Trey Thompson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Thompson takes a swing at Cide's ribcage but misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cide bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Thompson's head.
Thompson takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Cide feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Thompsons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Thompson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Cide lands a jab to the nose.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cide steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Thompson is out on his feet! Cide sets himself and nearly takes Thompson's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!
