Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hal Boyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nate Diaz has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hal Boyle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nate Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boyle has his takedown stuffed

and Diaz decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Boyle's guard.
Boyle really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Diaz wants to control but Boyle is keeping him busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Boyle is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Diaz is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Diaz can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Boyle is looking to escape.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Diaz avoids the attempt from Boyle to control.
Boyle is working to get back to half guard.
Diaz wants to control the pace but Boyle is squirming around nicely.

Diaz lands a big shot there that rocks Boyle but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boyle tries to hold on but Diaz pushes him away.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Boyle shoots in looking for a takedown. Diaz tries to sprawl out of it but Boyle keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Diaz manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boyle wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Diaz wants to control from the top but Boyle keeps moving.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Boyle shoots in looking for a takedown. Diaz tries to sprawl out of it but Boyle keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Diaz manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Diaz changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Diaz fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Boyle sprawls well initially but Diaz persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Diaz looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Diaz wants to lay and pray for a moment but Boyle keeps working.

Diaz is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Boyle doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Diaz.
Boyle is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Nate Diaz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Boyle's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Diaz tightens his grip and picks Boyle up, before dumping him to the ground. Boyle manages to land in guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Diaz shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Boyle's guard.

Diaz seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Boyle does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Nate Diaz is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Boyle tries to get to full guard but Diaz has control of the leg.

Well Diaz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
