The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malainen catches Hawat with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Hawat shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Malainen counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Malainen sizes up Hawat with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Hawat takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Hawat shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Malainen as he jumps to the side.
Malainen lands a jab.
Thufir Hawat seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A jab from Malainen finds it's way through Hawat's defenses.

Hawat is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Malainen swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Malainen cracks Hawat with an open hand slap.
Malainen keeps the fight on the outside.
Hawat shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Hawat is rocked!
Herikii Malainen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hawat circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Malainen. Hawat falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Malainen!
