Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Edwardo Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Edwardo Burns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brandon Scott!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Burns rushes Scott and presses him up against the cage.
Scott can't break the clinch.
Scott is trying to drag Burns to the mat but Burns just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Scott is trying to break free.

Burns pulls guard.
Burns looking for a sweep. Not yet Burns, not yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Burns wants to get back to his feet but Scott is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Scott is looking to work some ground and pound but Burns has wrist control.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Burns wants to stand and escape but Scott is having none of it.

Burns is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Scott dives into side control.

Burns is trying to work for a sweep but Scott has mounted him!
Burns is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Scott has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Burns's face.

Scott has hold of Burns's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Burns manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Poor strikes thrown by Scott there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Burns is desperately trying to improve his position but Scott has a good base and remains in mount.

Burns is looking to get to half guard.
Burns knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Scott on the ground.
Scott looking to ground and pound but Burns is blocking nicely.

Scott can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Burns is looking to escape.

Burns wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Burns tries to roll but Scott sticks to his back.
Burns is breathing heavily.
Burns grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.
Scott biding his time, looking for the opening.
Even with his hooks in, Scott manages to miss with strikes from the back.
Scott wants to control but Burns is keeping busy.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
I really don't envy Burns right now.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brandon Scott dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Scott throws a sloppy head kick and Burns moves out of range easily.

Scott closes the distance and clinches.
Burns slows down the pace here.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Scott is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Burns gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Scott is trying to push Burns away but Burns has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Scott tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Burns avoids it.
Scott jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Burns walks away with a smile on his face. Scott gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Scott is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Burns gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Burns.
Burns is pushing Scott up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Edwardo Burns.

Burns's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Scott throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Burns counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Edwardo Burns is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Scott is breathing heavily.
Scott throws a head kick that half lands.
Scott shoots in for a takedown but Burns shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Burns lands a good knee to the midsection. Scott won't want to take too many of those.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Burns is pressed up against the cage. Scott has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Burns down to the mat. Burns avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Scott shoots in looking for a takedown. Burns tries to sprawl out of it but Scott keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Burns manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Scott shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Burns as he avoids it easily.
Edwardo Burns is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Scott misses with a low kick.

Burns closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Burns breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Scott throws out a loose jab but Burns uses good head movement to avoid it.

Scott gets tackled into the cage by Burns. Burns maintains the clinch.
Scott tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Burns smiles and moves away.

Burns darts in and clinches Scott up against the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Edwardo Burns showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Burns has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
