Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Felton Simpson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dongstae Friend (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dongstae Friend has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Felton Simpson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dongstae Friend!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Simpson moves into the clinch.
Simpson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Friend is trying to pull guard but Simpson has him pressed against the cage.
Simpson goes for a takedown attempt but Friend pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Friend shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Friend was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Friend looks winded!
Friend tries to move to mount but Simpson blocks the move with his legs.
Friend working away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Simpson tries to improve position but can't.
Simpson wants to control but Friend postures up.
Simpson is trying to get back to half guard.
Simpson gets back to half guard.
Simpson trying to control from the bottom.

Friend prevents Simpson from standing back up.
Simpson wants to improve his position but Friend is controlling well.

Friend stands up and beckons Simpson to join him on the feet.

Simpson rushes Friend and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Simpson is trying to pull guard but Friend has him pressed against the cage.
Friend managing to block the knees to the body from Simpson.

Friend jumps into guard, dragging Simpson to the mat.

Friend looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Simpson won't allow Friend to sweep him here.

Simpson throws a big elbow that misses.
Simpson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Friend trying to keep a closed guard but Simpson is proving a slippery customer.
Simpson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Friend working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Simpson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Simpson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Simpson closes the distance and pushes Friend back into the cage.

Friend should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Friend is trying to control but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Simpson wants to take a breather but Friend is having none of it.
Simpson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Simpson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Friend does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Simpson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Friend is not content to let Simpson control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Friend swats away the attempt to clinch by Simpson.
And Friend tries to counter it with a takedown but Simpson pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Simpson is looking to clinch but Friend is avoiding it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Felton Simpson will probably get the nod.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Friend works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Dongstae Friend seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Friend closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Simpson fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Simpson is trying to pull guard but Friend turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Friend with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Simpson is looking to take this one to the mat.

Simpson has Friend pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Simpson pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Friend tumbling to the mat - Simpson dives into Friend's guard.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Simpson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Friend pinned against the cage. Friend gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Simpson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Simpson goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Simpson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Friend swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Simpson throws out a powerful jab.
Friend shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
enabling Simpson to counter with a crisp jab.

Friend pushes Simpson up against the cage in a clinch.
Simpson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Friend can do to turn this around?

Simpson manages to pull guard.
Simpson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Friend on the ground.
Simpson keeping moving, preventing Friend from controlling successfully.
Simpson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Friend trying to control but Simpson is working from the bottom.

Felton Simpson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Simpson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Friend is controlling him.
Simpson can't keep his opponent in guard - Friend advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Friend is trying to control the action in half guard but Simpson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Felton Simpson showed his dominance in that final round.
