Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ario Kuramoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergio Tanaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ario Kuramoto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sergio Tanaka!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shigeki Fujiwara and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tanaka wants to clinch up but Kuramoto keeps it at a distance.
Kuramoto swinging wildly here.
Kuramoto shoots in for a takedown but Tanaka shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Ario Kuramoto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tanaka walks into a stiff left hand from Kuramoto.
Tanaka moves in looking to clinch but Kuramoto pushes him off.
Kuramoto throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tanaka's waist but Tanaka gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kuramoto off to one side.

Tanaka is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kuramoto is aware though and is defending well.

Tanaka looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kuramoto is one step ahead there.

Tanaka is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Tanaka looking for subs off his back but Kuramoto has passed one foot through into half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kuramoto tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Tanaka swivels and escapes.

Kuramoto tries to sprawl but Tanaka drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Kuramoto kicks Tanaka off and gets back to his feet.

Kuramoto closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Tanaka did well to prevent Kuramoto getting side control.
Tanaka is looking to get back to is feet but Kuramoto passes into side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tanaka manages to work his way to half guard, despite Kuramoto's best efforts.
Kuramoto wants to pass the guard but Tanaka is defending well.

Kuramoto seems to be working for a kimura but Tanaka defends the submission attempt.
Tanaka wants to get back to full guard.
Kuramoto is controlling the pace.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Kuramoto is trying to work for a kimura but Tanaka is defending well.
Well, if Kuramoto is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Tanaka wants to improve his position but Kuramoto is controlling well.

Kuramoto escapes and gets back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Kuramoto shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Tanaka defends it nicely.
Kuramoto shoots in but Tanaka avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Tanaka is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Some bone on bone action there as Tanaka checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Tanaka gets caught napping as Kuramoto dives in and scores a takedown. Tanaka manages to retain guard.

Tanaka has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Kuramoto has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Tanaka pulls guard effortlessly.

Tanaka looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Kuramoto seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Kuramoto seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Tanaka for as long as he can get away with.
Kuramoto prevents Tanaka from getting back to his feet.

Kuramoto lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Tanaka wants to stand and escape but Kuramoto is having none of it.
Kuramoto controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Tanaka! But no joy.

Kuramoto throws the left hand but Tanaka avoids the punch easily.

Kuramoto ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kuramoto no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Tanaka landing with the ground and pound.

Kuramoto is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Tanaka defends well.
Tanaka trying to control the position from guard on top but Kuramoto is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Kuramoto is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ario Kuramoto will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Tanaka tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kuramoto sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tanaka somewhat.

Kuramoto looks to land a left hand but Tanaka moved out of range nicely.
Tanaka dives in and grabs Kuramoto's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kuramoto pushes down on Tanaka's head and hops out.
Kuramoto half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Kuramoto slaps away a takedown attempt from Tanaka, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Ario Kuramoto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sergio Tanaka.
Tanaka tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kuramoto sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tanaka somewhat.
Kuramoto shoots in looking for a takedown but Tanaka manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kuramoto's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kuramoto is defended easily by Tanaka.
As Kuramoto backs off Tanaka throws a huge counter combo but Kuramoto manages to avoid it all.

Nice takedown defense from Kuramoto. No joy for Tanaka on that attempt.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kuramoto shoots for a takedown but Tanaka saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Tanaka changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Kuramoto misses with a jab, cross combination.
Tanaka tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Tanaka misses with a hook
and Kuramoto counters with a right hand to the body.
Tanaka showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kuramoto.
Tanaka throws out a counter right but Kuramoto avoids it with no problem.

Tanaka is looking to get back to his feet here but Kuramoto is keeping cool and he's managed to take Tanaka's back.
Sergio Tanaka has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Ario Kuramoto is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
