Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jules York (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donnie Brasco Donnie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Donnie Brasco Donnie!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Anthony Taglia and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donnie shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. York defends it nicely.
York tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Donnie manages to circle out of the way.

Excellent takedown into side control there by York.

Donnie sneaks out the side door and pushes York away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Donnie looking to score a takedown here. York is defending well but Donnie drives through and ends up in York's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Donnie throws a strike but York rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Donnie has York pulled in close to control his posture.

York decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Donnie, up you get!

York gets tackled into the cage by Donnie. Donnie maintains the clinch.

Donnie works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
York throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

York pushes Donnie off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Donnie is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
York is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Donnie.
York leaves Donnie with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Donnie attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

and York counters with a lovely straight right hand!

A head kick misses from Donnie.
York is looking to counter the offense by Donnie and move into the clinch.
Donnie doesn't manage to clinch there - York circles away.
York swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Donnie is looking to clinch.
York was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Donnie's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Donnie duly obliges.


York is rocked!


It looks like Jules York has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Donnie slaps away a takedown attempt from York, before circling back to the center of the mat.
York sets himself, and Donnie steps forward looking for the clinch! York avoids it this time.
Donnie tries to close the distance and clinch but York swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
York is looking to counter the offense by Donnie and move into the clinch.

York shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than York was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

York decides to stand back up. York steps back and let's Donnie get back to his feet.
Donnie misses with a combination

and York counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Donnie gets control of York's arms and successfully pulls guard. Donnie will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
York controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
York trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
York slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

York is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

York decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Donnie, up you get!
Donnie looks winded!
Donnie thuds a left hand into York's body.
Donnie shoots in for a takedown but York shows good takedown defense.
It looked like York was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Donnie.
Jules York has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Donnie Brasco Donnie.

York fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Donnie, pushing him back against the cage.
Donnie jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as York walks away with a smile on his face. Donnie gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Donnie misses with a body shot.
A quick step to the side and York tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Donnie Brasco Donnie will probably get the nod.

That's time! York's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


York ducks under a wild hook from Donnie.
York is looking to counter the offense by Donnie and move into the clinch.
York really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
A head kick from Donnie lands but York takes it in his stride.
The fight stays on the outside here - Donnie looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Donnie closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into York's guard.
Donnie passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

York has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
York tries to get to full guard but Donnie has control of the leg.

York is trying to control but can't.
Donnie is taking a breather. York says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
York gets back to full guard.
York doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
York tries to strike from the bottom.
York is trying to keep Donnie in close.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
York trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Donnie shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and York counters with a lovely shot to the body.

and York counters with a stiff right hand.
Donnie is breathing heavily.
York tries to clinch there but Donnie circles away.
York chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Donnie can pounce on him.

York has a takedown stuffed.
Donnie throws a leg kick which misses York's front leg but catches the back leg as York tries to avoid it.
Jules York is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Horrible takedown attempt by Donnie or perhaps it was just good defense by York, which made it look bad.
A counter left hand to the body from York misses its target.
Jules York has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Donnie Brasco Donnie.

and York counters with a left and a right that stings Donnie.

York jumps guard but Donnie turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

York gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Donnie drops to a knee looking for a takedown but York gets the underhooks and prevents it.

York takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Donnie Brasco Donnie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Donnie doesn't succeed with the takedown

and York counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by York.
York landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Donnie wants a takedown but no success here.

York manages to pull guard.

York is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
York tries to strike from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

York trying to control the position.
York will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

York has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Donnie can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Donnie slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from York.
Jules York has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Donnie Brasco Donnie is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Donnie moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from York.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jules York showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Donnie has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
