Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jean Pelham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shannon Bailey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Shannon Bailey enters the cage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice combination there by Bailey.

It looks like Jean Pelham has been cut.
Bailey lands a head kick. Pelham smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Pelham fails to land the takedown.

Bailey closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Bailey lands in his opponent's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bailey really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pelham. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Bailey is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Pelham tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Pelham working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bailey doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bailey manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Bailey slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Bailey wanted to stand there but Pelham had control of the position.

Pelham has his foot on Bailey's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bailey works his way back into a safe position though.

Pelham had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Bailey is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Pelham Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Bailey's back instead.
Bailey wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bailey is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Pelham off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
You can see the frustration on Bailey's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Pelham is trying to stick to Bailey's back but Bailey is turning into Pelham. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Pelham's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Bailey.

Bailey not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Pelham is wriggling around trying to escape.
Bailey wants to take Pelham's back here but Pelham is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Pelham bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Pelham is pushing down on Bailey's leg trying to pass to half guard. Bailey is fighting to maintain full guard but Pelham has managed to sneak the leg through.
Bailey is looking to improve his position.

Pelham drops back looking for a leg! Bailey is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bailey manages to kick Pelham off! Pelham jumps back into Bailey's guard.

Bailey pulls Pelham in close to his closed guard and prevents Pelham from doing any damage or advancing position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Pelham drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Pelham seems to have locked his on tight now - Bailey screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Pelham, as he picks up the win!
