Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Aleksandar Andonov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mick Carter!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, David Hoff and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter leaves Andonov with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Andonov is trying to work for a kimura but Carter is defending well.

Carter has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Andonov is working away from the top position though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Andonov seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Carter for as long as he can get away with.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Carter wants to control but Andonov is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Andonov is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Andonov tries to pass to full mount but Carter defends it.
Carter is pressing down on Andonov's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Andonov is working Carter over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Andonov here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

You get the feeling that Andonov really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Carter sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Carter is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Andonov has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Andonov tries to hold on but Carter pushes him away.
Andonov sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Carter is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Andonov is trying to escape and Carter transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Andonov is forced to tap! Nice work there by Carter! Very nice indeed!
