The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ecklar fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Cruz fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Cruz throws a series of punches but Ecklar moves out of range.
Ecklar scores with a jab to the head.

Ecklar clinches up with Cruz and pushes him back against the cage.

Cruz breaks the clinch.

Ecklar closes the distance and clinches.
Ecklar lands with a left to the head.
Ecklar lands a hook to the side of the head.

Cruz is rocked!

It looks like William Cruz has been cut.

Ecklar's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Oh Cruz is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Nice takedown defense from Cruz. No joy for Ecklar on that attempt.
Ecklar is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Cruz flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Cruz is out cold! Ecklar holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
