Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Serra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Bateman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bateman is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Breed. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Patrick Bateman!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Reed Andrews and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bateman scores with a nice head shot.

Serra shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bateman's guard.
Bateman wants to get back to his feet but Serra passes into half guard.


Serra seems to be working for a kimura but Bateman defends the submission attempt.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Serra wants to pass the guard but Bateman is defending well.

Serra's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Serra seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Bateman for as long as he can get away with.

Serra wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bateman, who protects the arm well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bateman pushes Serra away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Serra gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Patrick Bateman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Serra walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Bateman paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Serra takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Serra. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Bateman connects with a nice looking jab.
Bateman connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Serra looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bateman clobbers Serra with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
