The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Banza shoots in but no luck this time.
Banza tries to clinch but Carlson moves out of range.
Carlson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Carlson swats away the attempt to clinch by Banza.
Banza shoots for a takedown but Carlson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Carlson plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

It looks like Jo Banza has been cut.
Banza shoots for a double leg takedown but Carlson sprawls well. He's pushed Banza's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jo Banza. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Carlson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
