Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Leonel Messi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lalla Danda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Leonel Messi has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Leonel Messi seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Danda clinches up with Messi and pushes him back against the cage.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Messi has his foot on Danda's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Danda works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Danda wants to stand and escape but instead Messi has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Danda manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Messi manages to get himself to full guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Messi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Danda tries for a takedown but Messi sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Messi pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Danda enables Messi to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Danda manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Messi wants to get up but he can't break Danda's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Messi darts in looking for a takedown but Danda gets double underhooks and turns Messi into the cage.
Danda tries to counter with a clinch but Messi shakes him off and moves away.

Messi wants to take the fight to the mat but Danda manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Danda has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Messi uses from the top position.
