PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Philo Beddoe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kane Shaam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Beddoe comes to the cage accompanied by Stranglehold/ Ted Nugent. Philo Beddoe has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Philo Beddoe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kane Shaam!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaam looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Beddoe is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Shaam.
Jab by Beddoe.
Beddoe connects with a looping right hand.
Shaam feints and then cracks Beddoe's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Beddoe down.
Beddoe connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Shaam momentarily.
Beddoe throws a series of punches but Shaam moves out of range.
Shaam slips a jab and a cross from Beddoe.
Beddoe stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Shaam.
Beddoe swings away with a body shot that misses
and Shaam counters with a stiff right hand.
Shaam throws an overhand right that lands on Beddoe's shoulder, as Beddoe tries to avoid the shot.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Beddoe tries for a takedown but Shaam circles away easily
and Shaam counters with a straight right hand.
Shaam throws a big shot that misses.
A swing and a miss from Beddoe.
Beddoe fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Shaam manages to avoid it.

Beddoe swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Shaam.
Beddoe throws a lazy right hand but Shaam sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Shaam looks to score with a jab to the body but Beddoe is just out of range.
Beddoe loads up on a big right hand but Shaam slips the punch.
Shaam counters with a body kick.
Shaam scores with a punch to the head.
Shaam ducks under a wild hook from Beddoe.
Shaam looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Beddoe looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Shaam follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
A nice leg kick lands there from Shaam.
Beddoe shoots in but Shaam avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Beddoe shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Shaam as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Philo Beddoe. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Beddoe lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Beddoe throws a right and a left that Shaam avoids nicely.
Beddoe shoots in and drives through. Shaam sprawls well.

Beddoe misses with a hook.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Beddoe.

Beddoe looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Beddoe goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Shaam has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Beddoe but great work by Shaam.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shaam is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Beddoe looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Shaam pushes past his half guard into mount!
Beddoe tries to lock up and control but Shaam gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Shaam lands a big shot there that rocks Beddoe but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Shaam pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Beddoe is looking to improve his position but Shaam isn't that keen on the idea.
Beddoe tries to lock up and control but Shaam gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Shaam lands a couple of good shots and Beddoe has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Shaam is punishing Beddoe with some ground and pound.
Shaam lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.
Shaam scores with punches from the back.
We've been hearing good reports from Beddoe's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Shaam is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Beddoe up.

Shaam has the hooks in. Beddoe is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Beddoe looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kane Shaam dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Shaam fakes the leg kick and cracks Beddoe in the body.
Beddoe misses with a double jab.
Shaam with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Beddoe to score with a decent uppercut.
Shaam feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Beddoe's calf.

Shaam looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Beddoe darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Shaam thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Beddoe if he has to take too many more of those.
Some bone on bone action there as Beddoe checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shaam throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Beddoe.
Beddoe is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Shaam slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Shaam has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Shaam throws a leg kick but Beddoe moved away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Shaam connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Beddoe some visible discomfort.

Beddoe is looking to reverse the position.

Beddoe is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Shaam tries to control but Beddoe wriggling away.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Shaam cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Shaam takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Beddoe is squirming around, avoiding Shaam's attempts to control the action.

Shaam is landing with some decent strikes but Beddoe is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Beddoe is in a horrible position here. Shaam smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Oh Beddoe is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Beddoe might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Shaam breaks from Beddoe's wrist control and lands an elbow.

A big strike lands for Shaam! That's really hurt Beddoe and he's turned his back - Shaam keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Shaam jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kane Shaam!
