Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jewel Cote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Whaley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Whaley comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Drowning Pool - Tear Away kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jewel Cote!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bobby Whaley!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whaley tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Cote closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Cote tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Cote tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Cote looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Whaley is looking for a sweep.

Cote is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Whaley is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Cote swings around for an armbar but Whaley sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Cote's guard.

Whaley looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Cote has one foot on Whaley's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Cote closes the distance and clinches.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Cote enables Whaley to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Cote manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cote could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
