Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ian Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Wuzz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith comes to the cage accompanied by Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap by AC/DC. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Ian Smith!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, David Wuzz!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Chris Saunders and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wuzz checks a leg kick.
Wuzz takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Smith throws a body punch but Wuzz moves out of range.
Wuzz wants to clinch
and Smith cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
A cross from Smith lands.
Wuzz is looking to clinch.
Smith swats away the attempt to clinch by Wuzz.

Smith decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Wuzz kicks Smith off and gets back to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Smith stuffs the takedown attempt from Wuzz. Wuzz gets slowly back to his feet.
Wuzz moves out of range of the strikes.
Wuzz shoots and misses
and Smith counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Smith misses with a body shot.
Wuzz fails with the takedown
and Smith counters with a nice uppercut.
Ian Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Wuzz.

Smith scores with a nice head shot.
Wuzz misses with a takedown attempt - Smith sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Wuzz shoots for a double leg takedown but Smith sprawls well. He's pushed Wuzz's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Wuzz shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Smith as he jumps to the side.
Smith lands a jab to the head.
Wuzz takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Wuzz darts in and clinches Smith up against the cage.

Smith has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Wuzz clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Smith lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Smith.
Wuzz tries to roll but Smith sticks to his back.
Wuzz felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Smith looking to soften up his opponent with punches.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Smith's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Wuzz is trying to get back to his feet but Smith has full control of the position and if anything, Wuzz has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Oooh a big shot gets through from Smith. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
Smith wants to control but Wuzz is keeping busy.
Smith landing with strikes.
Smith really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Wuzz.
A lull in the action here.
Smith is hanging on to Wuzz's back as he tries to escape.
Wuzz wants to get back to his feet.
Smith has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Wuzz.

Smith controlling well, preventing Wuzz from escaping the position.
Wuzz is taking damage to the body and head.
Wuzz manages to reverse the position and now he's in Smith's guard. Nice work there by Wuzz.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wuzz sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Smith's guard.
Smith is pressing down on Wuzz's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Wuzz preventing the sweep.
Wuzz wants to pass the guard but Smith is keeping the position.
Smith looking for a sweep. Not yet Smith, not yet.
Smith utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Wuzz drops back looking for a leg! Smith is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Smith manages to kick Wuzz off! Wuzz jumps back into Smith's guard.
Smith bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wuzz's guard.


That's four minutes gone in the round.
Smith trying to control the position from guard on top but Wuzz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Wuzz can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Smith controls the pace.
Wuzz trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Wuzz keeping moving, preventing Smith from controlling successfully.
Smith with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Wuzz is looking for a triangle here but Smith uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Wuzz is looking to regain half guard here but Smith keeps moving and retains side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ian Smith dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Wuzz shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Wuzz was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Wuzz is trying to get an arm triangle but Smith is defending well.
Smith is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Wuzz's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Wuzz is trying to work for a kimura but Smith is defending well.
Smith moves into full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wuzz tries to free his leg and advance position but Smith is retaining full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Smith is on top in guard.


Wuzz looking for a guillotine here but Smith defends easily.

Wuzz looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Wuzz doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Smith cracks Wuzz with a solid left hand.
Smith working some strikes from top position.
Smith pushing down on Wuzz's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Wuzz moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Smith wants to pass the guard but Wuzz is keeping the position.

Smith slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Wuzz takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Wuzz tries to buck Smith off but Smith is having none of it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Smith working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Wuzz is rocked!
Smith scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Wuzz is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Smith can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ian Smith!
Ian Smith is the new light heavyweight champion!
Post fight, an emotional Ian Smith said 'How are you even alive? After the beating I put on you, I would thought you'd be dead!'.
