PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ruarc Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edwin Jordan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jordan comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Excuse Me kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Edwin Jordan has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Ruarc Harris's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ruarc Harris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Edwin Jordan!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Micheangelo Fripello and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Jordan. Those never looked like landing.
Harris keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Jordan.
Jordan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jordan has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Jordan is looking to chop away at Harris's legs.
A big right from Jordan misses.
Jordan misses the shot to the body.
Jordan works the jab nicely.
Harris tries to close the distance and clinch but Jordan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jordan tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Harris was well out of range. Poor timing from Jordan.
Harris cracks Jordan with a good jab.
Jordan turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Harris ducks right into an uppercut from Jordan.
Harris is looking to clinch but Jordan is avoiding it.
Jordan throws an overhand right that lands on Harris's shoulder, as Harris tries to avoid the shot.
Harris scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Harris has taken the fight to the clinch.

Harris pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jordan pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jordan checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Harris slips a straight right by Jordan.
Harris feinted with a counter takedown.
Harris misses with a double jab.
Harris on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Jordan throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jordan works Harris's body with a nice hook.
Harris just misses with a punch to the body.

Harris gets a clinch.

Jordan has picked Harris up - he's going for a ride! Jordan dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Harris blocking the ground and pound attempt from Jordan.
Harris tries to roll over but Jordan keeps him under control.
Jordan looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Harris with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Harris is trying to stand back up but Jordan is controlling him

Harris slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Jordan won't allow Harris to sweep him here.
Jordan trying to control the position from guard on top but Harris is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jordan postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Harris is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Jordan trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Harris is looking to stand up but Jordan isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jordan working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Jordan trying to control but Harris is working from the bottom.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Jordan misses with a straight left.
Harris moves out of range as Jordan strikes.
Harris tries for a takedown but Jordan circles away easily
and Jordan counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Jordan dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Jordan throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Jordan looks to score with a jab to the body but Harris is just out of range.
Jordan misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
The fighters circling - Jordan throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Jordan throws the left hand but Harris avoids the punch easily.
Jordan thumps Harris with a low kick.

Harris closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jordan tries to roll over but Harris keeps him under control.
We've been hearing that Harris has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jordan tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Harris has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Harris stands up from mount. Strange move.
Jordan lands with a shot to the body.
Jordan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jordan does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Jordan lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Harris gets in close and instigates a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Edwin Jordan dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Harris gets a clinch.
Harris blocking some punches.
Harris missing with knees to the body.
Jordan misses with a body punch.
Jordan working hard to break the clinch.
Jordan pushes Harris back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Harris breaks from the clinch.
Jordan throws a front kick that sends Harris stumbling back into the cage.
Ruarc Harris is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jordan misses with a low kick.
Nice cross by Jordan.
Jordan clobbers Harris with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.


Harris is rocked!
Harris lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jordan circles away quickly and effectively.
Jordan throws a leg kick but Harris moved away.
Harris throws a body shot but no joy.

Harris drives through with a takedown into Jordan's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jordan is trying to keep Harris in close.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Harris trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Harris is looking to work some ground and pound but Jordan has wrist control.
Jordan wants to sweep here but Harris controlling him for the moment.
Harris in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Harris is looking to advance position but Jordan has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Jordan has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Harris's face.
Jordan tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Jordan is landing with some decent strikes but Harris is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Oh Harris is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Harris blocking the ground and pound.
Harris takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Jordan's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Edwin Jordan!
During a confident post fight interview, Edwin Jordan thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
In defeat, Ruarc Harris stepped up to the mic, saying 'I lost this match because i had a injured heart you see someone ran over my dog earlier today. If it where not for that i would have kicked this guys ass.'.
