Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jacques Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kim Jong Un (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jacques Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kim Jong Un!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the body from Un misses

and Johnson counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Johnson working hard to break the clinch.
Johnson wants a takedown but no success here.
Johnson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Un just stands there and leans against the cage.

Johnson pulls Un into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Johnson can't keep his opponent in guard - Un advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
It looks like Un is going to stand back up.
Un should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Un connects with a nice short shot to Johnson's temple.


It looks like Jacques Johnson has been cut.
Un content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Un seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Johnson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Un wants to stand up but Johnson has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Johnson slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Un slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Un tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Un is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Johnson will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Johnson is pushing Un's head away, looking to escape. Un manages to hold on to the position though.

Un goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Johnson rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Un's guard! Nice work there by Johnson!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Un can do anything to dispel that myth.
Johnson wants to stand but Un has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Un has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Johnson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Un's head.

Un looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Johnson passes into side control.
Un tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Johnson presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Un holds on for dear life, controlling Johnson's posture momentarily.
Johnson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Johnson connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Johnson goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Un is on top in guard.
Un controls from within his opponent's guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Un wants to get up but he can't break Johnson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Un rushes Johnson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Un has eaten all the pies!
Un keeps control of Johnson as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Johnson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Un is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Johnson gets control of Un's arms and successfully pulls guard. Johnson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Un controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Un wants to stand but Johnson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Un wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Un must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Un fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Johnson avoids it really well and circles away.
Johnson moves in looking to clinch but Un pushes him off.

Kim Jong Un seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Un drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Un sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Johnson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Un can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Johnson is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Un scoring with punches to the head and body.
Un throwing strikes but missing.
Un trying to control but Johnson is working from the bottom.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Johnson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Un controls the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Un looks for a takedown but Johnson sprawls well.
Jacques Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kim Jong Un.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
A looping hook to the body misses from Un. Johnson does a little dance to reset his feet.
Johnson was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Johnson instigates a clinch.
Johnson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Un just stands there and leans against the cage.
Johnson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Un walks away with a smile on his face. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Un looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Johnson is fending him off so far but Un persists. Nope, Johnson circles away and we're back to standing.

Johnson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Un looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
You can see the frustration on Un's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Un tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Johnson connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Un some visible discomfort.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jacques Johnson will probably get the nod.

Un decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Un wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Johnson uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
Un throws a strike but Johnson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Johnson trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Johnson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Un trying to keep a closed guard but Johnson is proving a slippery customer.
Un is looking to stand up but Johnson isn't so interested in that idea.
Un wants to sweep here but Johnson controlling him for the moment.
Jacques Johnson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Johnson engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Johnson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Johnson clinches up against the cage.

Johnson decides to pull guard.

Johnson throws his legs up looking for a submission but Un uses it to pass to side control.
Un is trying to ground and pound but Johnson uses the momentary lack of control by Un to regain half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Un looks to land a strike but Johnson avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Un trying to control but Johnson is working from the bottom.
Un working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Johnson's head.
Un wants to pass the guard but Johnson is keeping the position.

Un drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Johnson dives on top into guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well Johnson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
