Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Konrad Wosiecki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ruslan Kurbanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ruslan Kurbanov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Konrad Wosiecki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ruslan Kurbanov!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Igor Prikhodko and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wosiecki throws out a loose jab but Kurbanov uses good head movement to avoid it.
A countering left hand to the body from Kurbanov misses.
Wosiecki shoots for a takedown but Kurbanov saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Wosiecki checks a leg kick nicely.
Kurbanov misses with a takedown attempt - Wosiecki sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Kurbanov has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Wosiecki shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kurbanov as he jumps to the side.
Kurbanov keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Kurbanov stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kurbanov wants it to stay on the feet.

Wosiecki wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kurbanov, who protects the arm well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Wosiecki lands a nice short elbow.

Wosiecki takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Kurbanov tries to bum rush Wosiecki with a series of wild strikes but Wosiecki uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Wosiecki closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Kurbanov is looking to get back to his feet here but Wosiecki is keeping cool and he's managed to take Kurbanov's back.
Wosiecki is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kurbanov can do to turn this around?
Kurbanov is trying to remain composed but Wosiecki is hammering down strikes to the side of his head.

Kurbanov is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Wosiecki gets his way!

Wosiecki is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Kurbanov has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Wosiecki has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Kurbanov has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Kurbanov manages to get to his feet, escaping the difficult position.

Kurbanov is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Wosiecki dives into side control.

Wosiecki is working to tighten his grip on Kurbanov's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Kurbanov has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Wosiecki is really squeezing tight and eventually Kurbanov passes out! Wosiecki breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
