The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kurtwood fails with the takedown.

Best rushes Kurtwood and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Best goes for a takedown attempt but Kurtwood pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Kurtwood has managed to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Best gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Kurtwood tries to pull guard but Best forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Best looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Kurtwood has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Best after a bit of a struggle.
Bernard Best has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Derrik Kurtwood.
Best tries to break the clinch but Kurtwood is controlling the position.
Kurtwood is trying to stall.

Kurtwood jumps guard and drags Best to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Kurtwood is working an open guard so Best takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Best is staying tight to Kurtwood's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Kurtwood trying to control but Best flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!

Kurtwood just trying to survive but Best is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Best is cranking Kurtwood's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Kurtwood! He's tightened the choke and Kurtwood is tapping out!
