Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thunder Horse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Baltasar Halko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Halko has chosen The Lumberjack by Jackyl as his entrance music. Baltasar Halko acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Thunder Horse!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Baltasar Halko!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Sergei Dronov and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horse scores with a hook.


It looks like Baltasar Halko has been cut.
Halko wants to slow Horse down by chopping away at his legs.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Horse, right into the meat.

Halko shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Halko is working for a kimura but Horse is defending it quite comfortably.
Horse controlling the position well.
Horse is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Halko slows the pace down in half guard.
Horse is trying to maintain the position but Halko is very close to passing his half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Halko trying to mount his opponent but Horse defends it.
Horse is not content to let Halko control the position.
Horse is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Club Pain, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Halko seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Halko with the ground and pound but Horse uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Horse wants to sweep but no luck.
My spies in Russian Fighting Community Gym inform me that Halko has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Horse will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Horse not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Halko trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Horse has his foot on Halko's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Halko works his way back into a safe position though.

Horse looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Horse is working hard here to advance position.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Halko wants to pass the guard but Horse is keeping the position.
Halko must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Halko takes one to the side of the head.
Baltasar Halko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Halko shoots in for a double leg but Horse sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
And Horse counters with a quick kick to the body but Halko blocks it.
Nice shot lands for Horse.
Halko misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Decent striking displayed by Horse there.
Horse tests Halko's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Horse drops Halko with a straight right hand, right on the button! Horse follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Thunder Horse!
Thunder Horse is the new super heavyweight champion!
During a confident post fight interview, Thunder Horse thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
