Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Matt Hughes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 16 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lil Jon!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Hughes.
Jon drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Hughes defends it well.
We've been told by Hughes's head coaches at Rape Academy (7 elite, 6 2x elite) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Lil Jon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jon thuds a left hand into Hughes's body.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Jon.
Hughes appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Jon fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Jon looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Matt Hughes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lil Jon.
Hughes drops his hands momentarily and Jon takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hughes looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Jon changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hughes looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
My spies in Elite Strikers inform me that Jon has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jon sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Hughes is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Hughes tries to improve position but can't.
Hughes takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jon has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Hughes!
Hughes regains half guard.
Hughes tries to get to full guard but Jon has control of the leg.
Jon tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hughes knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Jon scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Nice strikes from Jon there.
Jon slips a nice elbow through Hughes's hands, connecting with Hughes's forehead.
Jon tries to pass to full mount but Hughes defends it.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jon connects with a nice short shot to Hughes's temple.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jon is nestled in close to Hughes, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Jon is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Hughes is hurt! He's hurt bad - Jon fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Hughes from any more punishment! Congratulations to Jon! Great finish!
