Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and The Artist (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Eminem - Not Afraid. Artist has chosen Limp Bizkit / Break Stuff as his entrance music. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eddie Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, The Artist!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson is looking to clinch but Artist is avoiding it.
Artist steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Johnson. That one must have hurt.
Johnson connects with the punch.

Artist feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Johnson wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Artist wants to pass the guard but Johnson is keeping the position.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Johnson holds on and takes a little breather.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Artist working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Johnson is stalling here. Artist is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Johnson seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Artist has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Artist goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Johnson has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Artist but great work by Johnson.

Johnson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Artist manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Johnson has Artist in his guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
