Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Griffin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Damien Redman!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Vladimir Khabensky and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffin throws an overhand right that lands on Redman's shoulder, as Redman tries to avoid the shot.
Redman slips under a jab.
Redman tried to score with a low kick but Griffin checks it.
Griffin tries to counter with a takedown but Redman is quick to defend against it.
Redman misses with a hook.
Griffin fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
A nice side step and Redman releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

and Redman counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Redman scores with a three punch combo!


It looks like Chris Griffin has been cut.
Griffin fails with the takedown.
Redman is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Griffin with a body shot.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Griffin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Griffin misses with the body kick

and Redman counters with a crisp one two that drops Griffin! Redman thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Griffin to his feet! Griffin is in big trouble!


Griffin is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Griffin throws a sloppy head kick and Redman moves out of range easily.
Oh Griffin is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Some bone on bone action there as Redman checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

A little jabbing left from Redman on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Redman stuns Griffin with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Griffin seems to have got his legs back now.
Griffin moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Redman moves into the clinch.
Redman slowing the pace effectively.
Griffin wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Griffin has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Redman after a bit of a struggle.
Redman lands a damaging elbow.
Griffin goes for a takedown attempt but Redman pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Griffin gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Redman counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Redman comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Redman lands a nice shot to the body.

Griffin is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Redman lands a jab to Griffin's midsection.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Griffin shoots for a takedown but Redman saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Griffin gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Griffin tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Redman is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Griffin buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Griffin!! Griffin is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Redman throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Damien Redman!
In his post fight interview, Damien Redman started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
