Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Buffel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jiri Necas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thomas Buffel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jiri Necas!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling eachother endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.
Buffel scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Necas rushes Buffel and presses him up against the cage.
Necas is trying to pull guard but Buffel turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Necas wants to take the fight to the mat but Buffel manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Necas is trying to break the clinch but Buffel is controlling him.
Necas is trying to push Buffel away but Buffel has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Necas wants a takedown.
Thomas Buffel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jiri Necas.
Buffel keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Necas's efforts to push away.
Necas prevents a body shot from Buffel.

Necas gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Necas is trying to work for a kimura but Buffel is defending well.
Necas should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Buffel wants to control but Necas is keeping busy.
Necas is looking to advance position but Buffel won't allow it.

Necas moves into the clinch successfully.
Necas tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Buffel just stands there and leans against the cage.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Buffel throws a sloppy head kick and Necas moves out of range easily.
Necas looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Buffel throws a series of punches but Necas avoids them all with ease.
Necas unleashes a big counter combination but Buffel bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Necas has closed the distance and engaged Buffel in a clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Necas tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Buffel just stands there and leans against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Thomas Buffel will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Necas closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Buffel lands a left hand that snaps the head of Necas backwards.
Buffel misses with a knee to the head.
Necas tries for a takedown. No joy.
Necas jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Buffel walks away with a smile on his face. Necas gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Necas takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Necas avoids a punch combination nicely.
Necas follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Necas gets a clinch.
Buffel works on Necas's body with a couple of short punches.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Necas working hard to break the clinch.

Necas breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Buffel throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Necas has taken the fight to the clinch.

Necas moves into the clinch.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Necas stalling in the clinch.
Necas can't get the takedown.

Necas is trying to drag Buffel to the mat but Buffel just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Necas breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Necas fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Buffel, pushing him back against the cage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Necas turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Necas manages to end up in side control.
Buffel wants to control but Necas postures up.

Necas stands up and we're back to a striking position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Jiri Necas will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Buffel's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Necas clinches up with Buffel and pushes him back against the cage.

Buffel misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Necas clinches up with Buffel and pushes him back against the cage.
Jiri Necas seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
Buffel wants to stall.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Buffel.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Necas fails to pull guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Thomas Buffel showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Buffel has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
