The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Jonathan Paton and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rich moves out of range as Qointo strikes.

Rich really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

It looked like Rich was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Rich is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Rich will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Rich looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Qointo with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Rich is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Qointo is trying to stand up here but Rich is controlling him well.
Rich escapes and gets back to his feet.
A left and a right from Rich both land. Nice combination.
Qointo misses with a looping left.
Rich feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Qointo has eaten all the pies!
Rich stands up from Qointo's guard - Rich perhaps looking for a knockout.

Qointo tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

That was a close round but I would say that Rich will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Qointo looks to land a left hand but Rich moved out of range nicely.
Qointo misses with a straight right.
Rich changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Qointo tries to avoid it but Rich manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Qointo to the ground. Qointo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Rich gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Qointo wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Rich has him pressed against the cage.

Qointo must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Rich manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Qointo manages to get himself to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rich.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rich, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
